Use the format across subjects
Vocabulary questions can move from definition matching to context. Science questions can progress from terms to evidence. History prompts can move from chronology to cause and effect, while ELA and math can use interpretation or worked reasoning.
Plan for participation, not just performance
Decide whether one student, a rotating spokesperson, or a team will answer. Give every group thinking time before the response and use the explanation moment to address reasoning.
Keep review aligned to your material
Write from the actual unit objectives and notes your students have used. Avoid obscure trivia that changes the activity from review into guessing.
Adapt for remote learning
Share the browser game, set a response protocol, and use breakout teams or chat when discussion would otherwise become chaotic.
